That Lock shaper has been listed for several weeks now.
Hi Guys,
A bit too much !
Assuming two $ to the £ makes it £350 about four times what its worth.
Crikey, I've seen better and bigger machines with the hammer put through them !

It's honestly not a bad price for someone space limited. Douglas 10.5 inch shapers are getting listed anywhere from $1500 to $3000 these days.
I've got 2 of them in perfect condition wear wise, so I'm sitting on some money if I ever thought of selling them, which I'm not.
Around 20 plus years ago, I paid $350 each and one had the original vise.

Hi Guys,
Its not too long ago that the scrappies were going round breaking shapers and horizontal mills with sledge hammers. Indeed in my local scrap yard they smashed up a big DSG lathe, maybe twenty feet long, probably about three tons. A couple of spring hammers went the same way.

It all depends on the time and location.
Some want to gain back the space in their shed after they inherited a big machine or bought into deceased estate. Other common situations are business liquidations, or government agencies disposing off their “unsafe” or outdated machinery.
Great if us home gamers can get our hands something we can never imagine of buying.
How about a DSG lathe for $100 today in NSW?
Hi Kafie,
Nice !

I noticed that myself but already have a larger Macson x Uni wot was a much better price.
You wouldn’t believe the junk they used to dump in my ute instead of the skip at Uni.
The guys even drove out to my place in the truck Outrageous.
Lucky my missus was still working at the time.
