I was going to ask why you would want a compound slide on the kitchen bench... let alone a tool post.... you must do some heavy duty cooking!

THis isn;t about ball turning per se, but related to ball handles and three-ball handles etc.
Bill Todd - well known in machining and CNC circles - successfully experimented with 'skiving' tools. A sort of profile cutter which is fed in at an angle so it only cuts in one spot at a time. I thought that was very clever because it requires profile grinding from a projection of the profile at an angle...

I was marking out in the kitcken. on a piece of glass on top of the microwave. Its a very comfortable height. the lighting is good. Plus there's plenty of clear bench space. Or there was. Not to mention close to the fridge. the kitchen lends its self well to electrical type repairs. As good as it is.. ive decided to confine the machinery and tools to the garage. And the kitchen can go back to the place you put the pizza boxes. so machinery ,tools and project strictly in the garage .that is garage lounge room and duny.
