Chinese electrical contactors

Anyone have any experience with chinese made electrical contactors?

A contactor in my Jafo mill has failed, the coil is not working... It is a bit of an odd bod as it has 4 NO and 1 NC all used, it is just a control contactor that switches a bigger set of contacts for the main motor.. The actual current it switches would not be much, probably in the milliamp range... It is 240V coil...

I see a heap of I assume no name chinese contactors on ebay now... Some sellers based here, others from Hong Kong..

Just wondering if they would be worth a try as a replacement..

if they are anything like their motors and capacitors which I expect they are I wouldnt even think of using them
What size do you need? I may even have a 2nd hand Sprech & Scher that may be suitable...if not I will have something else

re-read your post...all you need is a relay

4no 1nc right x 240v?

a bit of din rail might be needed to may install easier

A miniature side shift contractor would be better as far as physical size.

Like a Sprecher & Schuh CA4 + 22 CA 4-P Aux
or Eaton DILEM-01/10 + 22DILEM Aux etc etc..

I am sure there probably are better options, but last time I went into a shop just to buy a basic contactor it was well over the $100 for a name brand and then because I did not seem to know what I wanted they suspected me of not having a licence and got the whole lecture on unlicenced electrical work and how doing it will bring plagues and make the blue whale go extinct and ultimately lead to the reincarnation of hitler...OK I might have ever so slightly exaggerated there a tiny bit...... As such I seldom visit electrical wholesalers any more.... Very limited range of goods and expensive....

Prefer just to do shopping online like here...

the auxillary conact set is mechanically locked to the main operating contactor/relay. its a piggy back system

It is a bit hard to tell how much space you have in there. I was just suggesting to you that the side shift contactors are in general much smaller than a regular ones as it looked pretty tight in there.

Thanks for the offer but I will get the stuff online, you may need that contactor one day.....

Have a 6 pole changeover switch coming as well for this mill... As this is the one that I have put the vertical head on... When it gets installed I will be able to switch between the vertical and horizontal head.... Need a six pole as the horizontal drive has an electric brake on the motor...

It is a needlessly complicated Eastern European system...

I ended up getting one from Sparky Direct....

All installed, all good.. Runs like a 39 year old one again...
