You could. Try a rehm tiger 210 acdc I have one not used it yet but its around the 4k mark you can get parts easy too

my rehm 170 has a 10amp plug and my new rehm 170 tiger ac/dc tig is also 10amp

i would forget the mig go for a decent inverter stick welder you can weld all of your wants with a 160a machine
vertical up is the only way to performa structual weld thats a australian standard...

if you have a inverter type machine revers the leads so you have + earth - electrode
this will make all the heat go into the earth so you will be able to run more amps they use this for full...
