It is with great sadness I have to report that Mark died this morning, finally losing a 4 year fight with cancer.
We met through PM and seemed to click more or less instantly and it was one of his last wishes that I notify the forum.
Often controversial, if not outright blunt
but with Mark we always got his take on the subject, whether we wanted to hear it or not!
An engineer and machinist of the old school, his advice was good and solid, and as a businessman he was as straight as a die to deal with.
I met him twice when he was on one of his ''border raids'' south to collect a machine he'd bought, and I shall miss his chatty emails and long Sunday morning phone calls, where we put the world to rights.

I always liked Mark and got on really well with him, right from the uk.rec.model,engineering newsgroup days. Had several phone chats with him when I was scouting auction stuff for him down this way. Will miss his straightforward, no-nonsense attitude. RIP matey.
