Just in case it helps, for the very similar South Bend 9 inch lathe:

US dollars I think.

Also: I've heard of using a shoelace as the felt in the apron.
Hi Guys,
FWIW felt carpet underlay works well as an oil wick !
Here's a cautionary tale of a Hercus lathe purchase and subsequent rebuild. There's some apron details.

Hi, thanks for the stripdown of the hercus9 apron. Looks like that wick goes from the little oil sump up through the casting into the bottom of the worm bearing. Is that right? If so I guess I have to pull the worm out to fit the wick? It looks like there is a bit of wick lying in the bottom of the bearing too? Think I'll pull the worm.
Cheers and thanks for the help.

Long time since I did it, forget details but I think that's right - dismantle the worm drive assembly for access.
Hi, found the hole in the casting and fitted the wick, home made from 3mm felt. Hope the oil will rise to the pinion bearing. Will add pic of my finished recon 9" if possible. Thanks for all help.Attachment 383603
