Sheraton Model C 9 inch metal lathe
Some pics below (off ebay) of the Sheraton Lathe I purchased last month for under $1000
I will be doing a restoration over the coming months
Starting with a trip to the powder coaters soon
The Serial number of the beast is C143
I have been putting some resources together and searching the interNET for info. I will post links to some of the resources as responses here.

Found these on these pics on the net of a late A model with the square cover over the spindle housing and the very "pretty" gear cover
Identifying a sheraton 9"
I am told that the Sheraton has the oilers on top and that was the case with mine
Another way to tell is SHERATON and MELBOURNE written in italic script across the middle two bridges for the bed
I was also informed that the bed on Sheraton is around 42". Mine is just short of 42" although there is a plate missing on the headstock end of the bed
The bed bridges on mine have also been machined for some purpose so only have the 'S' from Sheraton left and no Melbourne script
Will post some pics of the butchery to my bed
If anyone has a sherton out there? Please post pics of the untouched script on the bed bridges for me.
The serial number seems about right (3 digits)
The forward/reverse lever that others mentione on the leg has a DEMCO label - DEMCO distributed the Sheraton Lathe throughout Australia
I found a pdf of a 1965 exhibition booklet in Australia of machine tools that has lots of pics of various machines and the address of each DEMCO distributor in each STATE (long gone now I expect)
There is a short history here Sheraton Lathe - South Bend Copy & Conquest
