FS Series 1 J-Head Bridgeport Mill fully tooled.
Hi Everyone, due to space constraints my series 1 Bridgeport has to go. Ill give as honest a description as possible but i think its a pretty good value, its taken me more than three years to get it fully equipped.
Key points:
1Hp R8 spindle, new bearings in the whole head in 2016, very quiet, everything works perfectly.
Has great paint and no damage anywhere.
Full size 42" table but slightly less Y than the series 2 (9" i think)
Vector drive VFD on the main motor, single phase converted (see notes below)
Really really good table surface, only one tiny drill mark but the whole table blued up very well on my plate.
Complete SINO Dro installed on all axes
Tooling:
er20 collet chuck with collets (import)
er40 collet chuck with collets (import)
one piece forged fly cutter (original BP)
Rohm supra drill chuck w/arbor
R8 to mt3 adaptor (very very handy, unknown brand)
R8 face mill, 50mm APKT inserts plus box of Korloy inserts (I think inserts are fake)
Victoria fully universal dividing head including a full set of change gears and all the brackets required to use it to mill helicals, worms etc
Set of import clamps, think its short a couple of nuts though
Can supply Hylo vice (matching paint!) at extra cost, also see my separate ad for Mizoguchi boring head can make a deal
Things to improve it:
Its original x axis power feed had both a burned out control and a broken wire in the armature so a new import power feed is provided, I have adapted it without shortening the leadscrew so it looks a bit doofy but works.
The machine has seen some use it does have a slight wear in the Y axis, it stiffens up at the very ends with the gib snugged up. New Y axis nuts have been installed and there is nearly no backlash. Overall wear is now but strange, the X axis has nearly no wear dimensionally but its nut is worn.
X axis nuts need to be replaced, I have the nuts but havent had time to do the job.
My wiring into the motor is not OHS compliant, the original switch case took a hit from a chain fall and is taped together, If you have kids or dumb friends its going to need to be neatened up.
All original parts will be supplied, I also have a complete second electrical cabinet and transformer (I bought it with no electricals at all)
No coolant sump or pump. Not all gears in the dividing head are included but you get a full set.
