Drill press hold down table
Saw something similar to this simple hold down table on the Eccentric Engineering Vid for assembling the Acute Sharp and thought I'd have a go at making one for my DP.
It turns out I already had this beaut piece of 250 x 250 x 20 mm steel plate I bought as scrap at a local steel merchant a few years ago and was going to use it as an extension table for the Hercus Mill but AB suggested it might be too heavy.
I was unsure of the lay out so I just drilled and tapped the inner area of 4 x 4 holes 40 mm apart, plus 4 holes in the corners, they can be used to store the hold down handles.

The holes are 5/16" to suit the 5/16" threaded re-postionable hold down handles I had on hand.

In some cases I might need to use longer bolts instead of these handles and might just use socket screws like Gary uses.

The underside of the table has a piece of 4mm thick galv SHS bolted to the table from underneath and this is held by a 125 mm cross sliding vice.

Now I need to give my hands a rest after tapping all those holes and besides my knee is pretty sore.
