Will Hercus 260 model BM gears fit a Hercus9" A

Will the change gears and other bits for a Hercus 260 fit the Hercus 9"A?

Also if the chuck thread the same?

Change gears will fit,( other bits may fit ).
Thread pitch is the same for both spindles just the diameter changes.

Thanks, is there a adapter available to change the diameter of the chuck thread or is it not worth it, am looking at getting some bits that are for the 260 that include a face plate and backing plate along with quite a few gears.

I dont think an adaptor would be of any use even if it did exist, which it does not. It would introduce too much runout and slop in what needs to be a pretty close register. If you really wanted you could bore out and sleeve the plates and cut new threads.

If you're talking about the stuff in Albany, the faceplate, and dog plate are 260 and won't fit your 9, easy enough to re-sell them or swap them for 9" parts. The backing plate appears to be 9", all the other bits you can use.

Yes you are spot on, I do not have to worry about postage as can get picked up, just have to work out what gears I can use with my lathe.
