Thread: Anyone bought from China lately

I'm home almost every day and have a quick chat with the postman and delivery drivers etc when there dropping off stuff to us.
Last week the Aussie parcel post guy said he still had 4 cages left over from the day before, and lake maqaurie had 8.
The startrack guy said they now had 2 drivers on in my area and there both flat out, which is unheard of up here.
The postman here so much earlier, he is delivering the usual letters and small China parcels etc, but also medium size parcels. He doesn't get paid for them, just his hourly rate.Using Tapatalk

Not from China but from US as a comparison.
A lot of slow international slow movement of packages can be attributed to the fact that many small mail packages travel as belly cargo on international passenger jets.
A friend in the US posted an item to me on 1st April. He provided a USPS tracking no and i was able to track the package as it moved.
1st April It was at Chicago International distribution center where it stayed until the
16th reported departed Chicago International distribution center.
April 22nd reported departed Los Angles US
April 23rd reported Departed Sydney Australia.
Now knowing the backlog of Auspost items I guess I'll see my package in 2 weeks.
An interstate express package to me, took 8 days 14th to 22nd April.
From what I read in above posts, many people appear to be doing well postage wise.

I received a package today from AliExpress that was purchased on the 11/2.
I received 2 separate parcels the other day in bright purple padded bags from AliExpress purchased around the same time, I ordered 4 but only 2 turned up so far, just goes to show how things sent all together can get separated.
I haven't ordered anything from China since it all went to crap, and have been buying from Australia at inflated prices for the same things, now that's so slow, can't win either way, lol
Maybe time to knock over those projects that have been on the back burner and I have everything here to complete them.Using Tapatalk

You know me too well lol, honestly don't know. Maybe the taper turning attachment that I returned to before Christmas after buying it 6 years ago at least, lol
I'd love to get this crane finished and done with, but parts that are coming are holding me up.
I watch for the postie everyday, and usually a few cuss words are said when he doesn't stop and rides past.Using Tapatalk

Well, my DRO (see #46) arrived last Wednesday, couriered (DHL) directly to my house, a few days earlier than promised. Parcel was very well packed and no damage was seen. Package was marked 1/2 but package 2/2 was not seen. I contacted the seller to see where it was but it turned up yesterday via another (unknown) courier. Like the first, this package was in great condition so now, all is well in the world!

This week I've had two deliveries. Ipad cases from Sydney to Sydney about 4 days. Bicycle shoes and cleats from Sydney to Richmond 1 day - Ordered and paid for on Friday, delivered Saturday morning.
I'm still waiting for 2 tee-shirts from America, ordered and paid for last month, no word when they are coming.

I ordered an ignition coil on ebay from hong kong/china, on 13th May, for $21 with free postage. I messaged them first to see if they thought post would get through. They said they had it in stock and they would send it immediately. Ebay Tracking shows it left country of origin on 19th, cleared customs on 20th and arrived today. The tracking number they provided never showed up in Australia post tracking. Maybe I was just lucky. I also got an item today, ordered on 13th Jan.

Hi Guys,
I Emailed Banggood last Friday again, complaining about non delivery and that its been over three months. They Emailed back saying I could have a refund ! If its anything like the last time I accepted a refund they took 30% off and credited the 70%.
I Emailed back saying no thanks, please resend the goods, particularly since when I checked the price has increased by 25% and it is no longer free postage. I got an Email back this morning saying that a replacement item will be dispatched.
So we will see what happens !Best Regards:

My order from Banggood took less than a month to arrive - ordered in April. Guess it's a lottery.

I am reminded of an old saying my Uncle had.
When something or someone was slow to appear.
"Its on a slow boat from China". It seems to fit the current times quite well.

Has anyone ordered anything from Taiwan and Hong Kong recently. If so what's the rough time frame of delivery. I want to get some chainsaw and outboard parts. Thanks.
