Why?
Your bed and saddle should be at 90 degrees to each other so if your test piece is parallel then the face should be flat.
So a slight adjustment to the headstock ended in a 0.045mm centre cup, way better than I had hoped for, and allows me to finish the project I was working on.
It is really nice to drill through a 75mm piece of steel and have the hole appear in the correct position on the far side :D
When this project is done, it will be time to start from scratch & set the lathe up properly.
