Looks nice.
couple of questions.
1) what sort of costs were involved to get the grinding done?
2) the motor doesn't look original so do you have a VFD on it. If so was the motor shaft long enough for thr step pulley?
I have an old H&F clone that I'm hoping to put a VFD on one day. The motor I have aquired looks about the same physical size as yours.

The motor looks to be a single phase job, going by the big cap box on the side.
Very nice looking mill you have there. Well done!!

Hi Bollie7 the slide way grinding and scraping cost me $1000 the machine didn't really need it but at that price i got it done it is now very accurate in deed. The motor is a single phase LA FERT a Friend of mine supplied for $600 he took the original Bridgeport motor to work and tested the tork rating and matched it to a single phase motor. the complete rebuild cost me $6500 including machine and DRO and table feed very happy with the result considering a new series ! variable head machine is $48000 AU

WOW Looks great , I was wondering about the power feed you have on the table.
I have a Taiwanese 8x36 mill and want to fit one of these to it .
I have seen them on US sites for $249.00US they look identical to yours .Of course I will have to get a 240/110 transformer.
H&F have them but they are asking $599 for them plus the transformer.
I was wondering what size shaft the Bridgeport has , I think mine is 16mm ,but will have to check.

I saw some on ebay.au Kev.
They were shipped from HK but were 240v so didn't require transformer. I can't remember how much, but I recall thinking it was a far better deal than H&F.

There were power feeds sold on Ebay from the same guy that I bought Miester DRO's (sino_3axis) if you ask him he will be able to list them I think they were about $450 with free postage.I bought mine for my HM52 mill on US Ebay from (ezaccessory) they were the cheapest including the postage of $69 and $70 each or $110 combined for the 2.It cost me around $660 Australian for the Y and Z axis 150lbs models posted. The one's from (discount_machine) are a lot more and so is their postage.I looked around for a transformer on ebay they were expensive but I waited and got 1500 watt one for $33 with postage for some reason no one bid on it, so keep your eye out as there are bargains sometimes.I have been told by a elec transformer company you can use the 100 volt Japanese transformers on these as they are brushed motors, they will just run a little bit slower on the high speed rapids, usually these go for alot cheaper than the 110v. These power feed units from the US are the same as Hare and Forbes sell but there price on the 2 with transformers which they still need because they are 110 volt are $757 for the Y,$792 for the Z and $126 x 2 for the transformers thats $1800. Ezaccessorys have good prices on a lot of gear and my experience with them has been great.
Woodlee, the complete installation instructions and sizes for the shafts for all the powerfeeds X,Y and Z are on the Servo website for downloading.
Once you have a powerfeed or a DRO you will wonder how you did without them, it just makes things easier.

Thanks for the info guys , Dave do you have a link to the Servo website?
Most of the mills Ive used over the years had power feed ,I know what I'm missing out on.
Thanks

Hi
Just type in servo powerfeed in google search http://www.servoproductsco.com/html/power_feeds.html
They are a huge (and expensive) company in America, but I have read all over the internet that there power feeds are superior to any of the Asian one's.

It's a shame 240v units are not more readily available over here. They are made, as per my previous post. Here is a link to the manufacturer. http://www.echinatool.com/power_feed.htm
