    Default Metal work bender

    Hi guys ,

I have had a lazy Sunday afternoon of web surfin .

Here's something I found that I think is pertinent to a recent thread on metalwork benders.

    http://www.bbssystem.com//files/smau...bender_102.pdf

Its has illustrations, photographs and instructional text

Sure! its old and in feet and inches but easily printed out and converted to metric . 25.4mms to the inch.

I hope it may be of value to some one.
    Enjoy

    Grahame

    Thanks Grahame,
We have one similar at work. I might have a bit of a play at some stage.
    All the best

Grahame, thanks for posting the link. I've been searching the 'net for plans for a suitable bender (to use in my forge, mostly), and where do I find them? On a woodwork forum, of all places .

Anyhow, I've just built one (not without a few minor problems in the process!) and it's a brilliant design! Once you see how it operates it becomes obvious that it has great potential. I had looked at buying one of the small bar benders that are readily available, but they only bend fairly sharp angles - this one not only does sharp and curved bends, but will also do basic scrolling, which is what I was after.

There also appears to be lots of other good stuff posted here - much more interesting than the woodworking sections .
