    Default Round and squire bar stock wanted

    Where do you guys get your bar stock from around the Perth (Mandueah) area? Looking for small 5 - 20mm round and squire bar in small lengths, can anyone advise me?

    Yellow pages is your friend. Look for steel supplies. Now, most steel suppliers will only sell you full lengths, but if you ask nicely they would probably know of someone else who sells cut lengths. Quite often it will be one of their customers.

    8 Beete Street Welshpool
    9350 9582

    They have all sizes, shapes, grades and materials.
    They will cut to length as long as it's over 1/2 inch diameter.
    (big saws).
    It seems to be cheaper to buy the offcuts and there is a lot of them.

    Thanks for that Poloris, I did go there some weeks ago, but the despatch guys seemed to be to busy to help me, it is a very large joint. When you say off cuts, do they allow you to have a look around, or is it closed shop (safety and all)?

    That's what I want is small off cuts, what is the best way to approach the guys there?
