    Default Rivets.

    Gooday all.

I was wondering if some one on the forums can help me locate some rivets.

I think they are called "kinsman or kinsmen".

They are a solid aluminium rivet that have to be set.

    I am after 5/32" approx 3/8" and 1/2" long.

    Thanks for all help.

    Hi Robbo,

I believe they are more commonly called Brazier Solid Rivets. Brazier being the low domed head profile. I think the naming is another US of A thing.
They are also available in several other profiles.

Below are a couple of places that stock that sort of stuff.

If it were me, I would first try Nepean Boltmaster.
I am usually surprised by the oddball stock they carry.

Robbo ring my SIL's work "Thomas Watburton" Mulgrave branch on 9574 3434

They have in stock 4500 countersunk ones and can supply Mushroom heads if required.

    Cheers

"Tinsman's" rivets - 'cause they were used by tin workers.

Now, if you were able to use 'iron' or galvanised 'iron' flat head rivets, I might be able to help. 1/8" (3mm) you can use common clout nails & a pair of mini bolt cutters. For 3/16" I'd say, 'Flat or domed? 1,000 or 9,000? - in the green toolbox in the shed.
