Filling my Primus gas bottle
I have a Primus lpg/propane gas bottle (little fella) that has a small torch fitting.
Once upon a time, you could get them filed at the local servo. but now it is all 'Swap'n Go' and no-one can fill a bottle.
Where do I go to get my little gas bottle filled?Cheers
Jeremy

Camping stores often do them or try your yellow pages for gas cylinder testing and ask them your nearest fill up station.

Jeremy I have had a similar gas bottle filled up at my local gas bottle filling station and also had several out of date gas bottles retested and restamped.
As Ashore has said try the yellow pages.Regards
Al .

Barbeques Galore might do it. I know they still fill up 9KG bottles.

Hi Jeremy,
Mate, It's just a matter of an adaptor. The standard fitting (on the end of the decanting bottle hose) is called a "POL" fitting. It's just a matter of using either a "3/8 LH" or in your case, a "Primus" adaptor which screws onto the POL fitting.
I'd think it's probably best to give the servo a miss, and go to a small (family owned) hardware store.
Hope this helps.A man who thinks that it can't be done shouldn't interrupt a man who's doing it........

Dunno, my guess would be time & safety issues.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Bunnings and welding shops have it.

So, Scooter, will Bunnings stop refilling MAPP gas bottles?
Cheers

primus bottles
Hey Jeremy, some people won't like this but i fill my small primus bottle at home myself.heres hoe i do it.i purchased a primus to 3\8" male adtaptor,1 x 3/8" double ended female adaptor and a male 3/8" to female pol adaptor.I screwed them all together with teflon tape.i then connected the primus bottle to the primus fitting and the pol fitting to a 9 kg bottle.i turn the nine kg bottle upside down so the primus bottle is the right way up open the nine kg bottle valve and open the primus bottle bleeder.in about 30 seconds the primus bottle is full and it has cost me about $1.00.i have been doing this for years without a problem.of course make sure you are away from any ignition source but it is no different from how a gas filler would fill it with exception to the connections.hope this helps you all out.
p.s i got my adaptors at a bbq shop.
