    Default Honda Generator

    Hello Guys
I know this is probably not the right thread but I still value your comments.
Some one at work is flogging of a Honda Revamatic 2.2 kva Generator for $330 sound pretty good to me (can’t beat Honda stuff).
Would this run a full size residential fridge/Freezer.
What about my Onga pumb to the dam has a 2 hp electric motor on it.

    Cheers

Rule of thumb for sizing a generator is that it should be capable of twice the required load. So it isn't big enough for your pump but should be ok for the fridge/Freezer.

Sounds good. I'd buy it. I have a Davey pump that is around the same size as your Onga, and a 1KW generator will run it. It doesn't sound happy though (the pump motor that is). Just think along the lines of how many 100 watt light globes it'll run, ie., 22. Then you have the extra drag of motors during start up (double, as Echnidna has indicated).

2.2 KW is a good size, and these Honda's just go forever.

A small hijack (ok, well quite a big one really! )

As many will know, Honda make an 'R' version of many of their cars - the ones that rev to phenomenal heights for production cars (eg S2000 - R/line at >8000 rpm).

I seem to recall that the published stats. show that of over 5m vehicles produced to 'R' spec, not ONE had had a warranty claim. That's really quite astonishing!

I haven't ever owned a Japanese car, but if I did, methinks Honda would be a good call...

A Honda Revamatic 2.2 kva Generator for $330 is a good price.

However, it may be a bit under powered if your pump is fully loaded.

Understand that Honda make the motor, not the Generator.
