I can't believe it but that rusty wreck sold for $4100 + 16.5% buyers premium. It was at $700 when I first posted.

Rusty wreck? It looked like only flight rust to me.

It looked like it would clean up ok. The rust appeared to be only flash and or surface rust. It does need the knee lift repaired though.

I've never really found Gray's or any of the online auction crowds all that appealing. Just never seems to look like a great deal when the buyers premium and GST goes on top and removal and transport is factored in. I've seen Metalmaster gear go for 20% less than retail and I can't figure out who's paying this vs buying new. TBH to my untrained eye I might as well buy a similar looking machine that's been removed and cleaned up by a dealer for an extra grand or thereabouts.
That said, the machinery market here seems to be virtually zero outside of our local dealer so I keep an eye on Grays just in case that once in a lifetime deal comes up.

With a new machine at just under $29000 this one probably isn't such a bad buy. A couple of days cleaning & a coat of paint would work wonders but with the knee not operational and not knowing if the motor or feeds are working this mill could turn in to a real money pit.
Judging by it's present condition I question if it's ever been serviced or cleaned. Sad to see when most of us here would give an eye tooth to have a machine like that in the shed.
