Steel Prices
Saw this on the wall of Moorabbin Steel today. Apparently there have been a couple of price rises since this was printed.

Looking at Tubular Sections...
1.05 Oct 2020
1.09 Feb 2021
1.11 Mar 2021 (average of 10% and 12%)
1.15 May 2021

Multiply all those together, and we have about 88% increase in 1 year!!! Blimey!

I got a email from Vulcan monday that their engineering steels are going up 5-13%. I think its the 3rd price rise email i have got this year. But supply is getting better, i don't think i have been told nil stock for about 4 months. was getting really annoying and expensive using bar 20-30mm bigger than what i wanted.

I used to go to the local steel supplier and buy steel by the length and maybe throw in another one or two for good measure.
At the moment I'm asking for 3 metres of this, 4 metres of that, etc.

With price rises like that I hate to think what the prices will be in Alice Springs.
