    Hi eskimo

    Nice pick up, then!

I would bet it not even 10% of the current new price.

    Really great condition too!

Obviously someone doesn't know their REAL value. Was it a garage sale or on gumtree/eBay?
To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Interesting comment, what is the "real" value of these. Not trying to be a s/';3T ass. I am finding that for a lot of stuff the price of second hand stuff is going through the roof because of the perceived value. These are really only hobbyist to buy as a lot businesses have gone to digital or have the old stuff already.

The real value is what someone would freely pay with their own money to have it. This "new and unused set from Yank ebay would cost around AU$529 landed in Australia at its present price of US$299.95 for the City inside micrometer set. I don't know what the Measuremax combination set would retail for but I would say that Grahame's estimate for total value would be pretty close to the mark. As long as someone buys it, that is what it is worth, not what we think we would like to buy it for unfortunately.

I was taught that a valuation needs to be based on more than what only one potential buyer would pay.
There are some eccentric folks out there.
