Fred Dibnah
With the talk about falls and ladder safety I figured it's a good time to watch a video featuring Fred Dibnah,
Enjoy.

Holy crap that's scary!
One of the other vids shows how he inserts the dogs to support the multiple ladders as he goes up, the thought of lugging ladders and doing that so high up with a massive overhang is just unbelievable!

Fred was an interesting guy doing lots of interesting thing. There are quite a few other videos on you tube about his various exploits in his daily work, his restoration work etc. The video linked to is just a short one of a climb, there are others of him laddering chimneys and setting four stages of scaffold high up a 12ft diameter chimney, restoring an operating his steam equipment, creating his replica mine shaft, touring UK visiting significant site of early engineering endeavors and more.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.
