A small 'win' today
I was snooping inside a scrap metal skip at work today, when I saw a Mitutoyo Mag Base with a broom handle attached to it.
I fished it out, removed said handle and found the lever jammed. Magnet could not be disengaged.
I thought I'd pull it down to see why. I don't need another base but could not resist saving it.....
Took it back to the office, unwound the stem and the mechanism began working!
It seems some sort of washer that should be under the stem was missing, so the the threaded section was locking the tumbler!
I'll machine 1.0mm of the end or fit a washer and Voom! another mag base....
Incredible.....lo

Gotta love the occasional win, they offset the crying in the beer moments caused by the crisp crack of end mills, drill bits and taps in awkward places
