~30 years ago when I bought my first cheap set of small metrics it came with a 1/8" BSP tap and I thought the same thing but in the last 5 years I have got into vacuum lines and small plumbing fittings and it has become quite useful. The ones I haven't (yet) used in that set are the 4.5 and 3.5mm.

    Hi Guys,

3.5 mm and 2.5 mm are good for utilising the screws found in computers ! Particularly the Torx socket headed ones.

I've used the 2.5mm ones in electronics projects.

My 3D printer uses brass extruder nozzles with an M6 0.75mm pitch, compared to most common standard nozzles which are 1mm pitch. I got a spare with the printer but bored that out to a 0.8mm nozzle ( standard size if 0.4mm) so had no spare when that one clogged. Initially I found it difficult to get 3rd party (ie cheeeep) replacements and was considering making my own but suddenly a bunch popped up on ebay, 5 nozzles for $20

Dave, that depends on what you get involved with. I make way more imperial threaded fasteners than metric due to the old and/or American made earth moving machinery I repair.
Imperial fittings will still be around long after we are gone.
