Default Thread cutting on a HAFCO AL960-B Lathe

    Hi,
I am new to thread cutting and having done a few today fell short of the mark when it comes to appearance.
The threads work OK but look like the dog has chewed them. Very coarse / rough finish.
I was doing 3/4" Imperial- 14TPI on Tool steel bar
    Chuck rotation speed 270RPM
I have watched videos and disappointed that I cant get my threads to look so smooth.
    Any clues?
    Graham

I have moved this post from Terms of Use to MetalWork General

How you managed to post it there in the TOU is beyond me.Your question can be answered here in MetalWork General.
