Mine sits on the arm as yours does, I don't see that as a problem at all, just changing the size of the spigot will organise that. What is more important is the length of the arm from the centre of the spigot to the column and I suspect that mine has less distance in that dimension than more modern drills but I have never compared any. I think I am pushing water uphill with a fork to tell the truth but never ask and you never get. I don't want to modify the original table and putting another one on would enable me to add a tilt adjustment to it at the same time which would be useful. Making one is possible for not much money at all but if I find one already made that is easier. I have been thinking about this off and on since I bought this DP so 40 years ago so I thought I would ask the question and see what falls out of the woodwork so to speak.

A picture of the current table might inspire some idea?

It is exactly the same as yours, an arm with a spigot for connection. As I said my preference is to buy one, I might call H&F and ask them.

If you can't find one, given you're going to add a significant X-Y table and then a extra slotted table on top of that, the weight is then going to be very significant. In that case what about just replacing the existing cast iron table with something made out of Al plate eg 16 mm thick should be OK - weld a spigot on one side to connect to the arm and bold the X-Y table to the top.

I was in Carbatec earlier this morning, the DP1500 dill press they had on display had a decent size rectangular table with T slots. Might be able to purchase the table as a spare part from them.

Thanks, I was going to contact them if H&F can't help. There must be at least one knackered DP in Oz that has a table on it. I don't care about the surface condition too much as I can put it through the surface grinder easily enough.
