    Hi Jordan, Guys,

    Really daft idea could an electronic solution be the answer ? Something akin to a rev counter using optics or a magnetic sensor.

    For a gear that size, low load and always loaded in one direction, I don't think the pressure angle will matter too much (being Italian, I would guess module (metric) anyway).
    Helix angle is the biggy.

    Yesterday I posted a message replying to some questions.
    It has mysteriously disappeared today, but anyway the gist is that I'd prefer to keep the original speedo.

    If you really got stuck with the speedo gear you could probably fit a speedo drive on the rear wheel on the sprocket side, run the cable under the engine and up the front down tube to the speedo. I know this is not what you want but i was just mulling it over...

    I guess that's possible if a suitable ratio speedo gearbox could be found.
