    Michael,
the table I posted recommends 20 thou (0.5mm) undersize for machine reamers between 14-18mm. I once ruined a model engine conrod by drilling a 'few thou' undersize before reaming. The reamer barely touched the sides and the hole ended up non-round. Since then I always leave a fair bit of meat to ensure the reamer fully engages with the hole.

I’m only 52 and plan on being around for a while yet , so I can justify buying a stack of drill bits .annular cutters standard and adjustable reamers. It’s great to be able to just grab anything u want anytime to do whatever u want. And great not having to do the drive to buy gear

That is what GeneralTools told me so I bought a 15.5mm

My mistake - I assumed that hand reamers were being used.

I have a secret post office box for deliveries, and am good at getting rid off packaging evidence, and if asked about something that looks new I say I have had that for years . And never complain about them spending money on clothes make up and shoes , so they don’t feel like criticising us in our purchases ... one could say I have it sorted

I'm lucky, I think I've worn my missus down over the years, now she just rolls her eyes at me!

With perseverance and the setting of low standards, anyone can achieve the ability to buy tools when they need! ;-)
