Lathe al320 g apron lubrications
On the top of my apron next to the blue Nikko pen is what looks like a small oil point or grease nipple. I can’t see anything in my manual. It’s easy to lubricate my lead screw because access is a piece of cake. But I have no idea how to grease or lubricate inside the guts of my apron or do I need to partially dismantle it for the purpose of lubrications.? ... trying to post a pic

If image accidentally rotated. Possible grease nipple is at small end of long fat blue Nikko

Not a grease nipple. That's one of the oilers for the carriage slideways, there should be another in the same spot on the back side. Jam the tip of an oil can in there, squeeze away, pumps oil under the carriage. How have you been oiling the bedways previously?
There's a whole bunch of those little oil nipples all over the place, at handwheels, on the tailstock, etc. Can't see the top of the cross slide on H&F site, but the AL335 has them there as well.
As far as lubing the apron goes, I'll have to leave that for someone else - a quick look at the manual suggests it might be packed with grease upon assembly though.

Thanks Jekyll. I have been spaying the ways with crc or similar when required but now I’m much more serious about useing the correct lubricant in the right spots and as often as should be done. I been a bit slack so far. But now I’m going to bee seeking out all those oil holes

Have a good look around inside the change gear cover while you're hunting down oilers. The AL335 and other 12x36 machines have one in there half hidden behind something or other (behind one of the change gears I think). You may or may not have the same on your machine.

Thanks Jekyll I sprayed some sticky lube on those change gears this morning but did not think to look for oiling points. I’ll do that now and I note that u said it may be partially obscured by the gears so I’ll have a proper look

Hi Steve,
The way to prevent the forum rotating your pictures is to get rid of the "EXIF" data stored in them by your phone/camera !
I do this by editing the picture and re-saving it. Simply re-saving the picture doesn't work you have to edit it in some way, I normally just crop the edges off and then save. This will get rid of the "EXIF" data and then the forum will leave the picture in whatever orientation you choose.
HTH.Best Regards:
