Thread: Strange Email from Meatawork !

Hi Guys,

Did anyone get an Email from Metalwork Forums this morning about this thread ? The very latest post !
Al320g lathe headstock oil procedure


It was a massive 188 Kb in size ! It hit my my spam filter and produced a virus warning ! It was marked "Image" in the Email and contained a bucket load of strange code ! The Email is uneditable and not deletable in the normal way. I ended up having to find the actual Email and delete it manually.

Now it could be a corruption of some kind because looking at the original post there is supposed to be a picture but there isn’t, just a symbol.

Either way this is going to cause problems for Win users and maybe Mac, I don't know about phones.

The Email was one of the notifications that I regularly get from the forum. It definitely came from here ! I kept a copy of the headers just in case, the original has gone. I would have thought that anybody that had notifications turned 'on' and read that thread would have received one.

However it not to say that there wasn't some kind of glitch or corruption. In the original post there was an icon suggesting that there was supposed to be a picture there. In the Email it had an "HTTP Image tag, and then 188Kb of code, some of it appeared to be encrypted.

The thing that I found alarming was that I couldn't delete it or edit it in the normal way, but had to root through the mailbox files to find it ! I moved it to trash and copied the headers before deleting it.

Very strange.
