Default Denbigh Milling Machine Type C

Hi all, just joined this forum hoping to find someone who owns a similar milling machine with an operators / user manual. Alternatively, someone who knows how to use the machine and can guide me on its operation.

    Cheers

    Default yes

    Hi Mark

I have one but not used it, it is rather in poor shape, been flogged I suspect. . The table is a mess with broken sections of the T slot grooves. I have a Vertical head for it. One gear has broken teeth . i don't know of a manual but the website 'Lathes UK' might help - he charges like a wounded bull though.

Welcome to the forum Mark. I did some googling and came across this these links which someone had on The Hobby-Machinist https://collections.museumsvictoria..../items/1511701 Instruction Sheet - Denbigh Engineering Co. Ltd, Tensioning Belts on "C" Miller, 1945 (museumsvictoria.com.au) Instruction Sheet - Denbigh Engineering Co. Ltd, Removing Table Winding Handle for "C" Miller, 1945 (museumsvictoria.com.au) Instruction Sheet - Denbigh Engineering Co. Ltd, Lubrication of "C" Miller, 1947 (museumsvictoria.com.au) It's not a manual, but it might give you some info.

I meant to say that with those links I did get a privacy warning initially which I ignored and everything seemed ok.

Thanks, that was my 1st port of call and unfortunately they don't have one. So it appears that are a rare thing. If i manage to get one it will be a miracle.

What do you intend to do with your machine?

    Cheers

They aren't a very complex milling machine,on/off buttons or switch for the spindle, 3 or 4 belt speeds (2 leavers at the back, one to unlock the motor adjusting slide other to adjust bet tension) and a back gear for the spindle (leaver on left hand side), and a one way 3-4speed power feed for the table (gearbox on right hand side, feed leaver on front of table). Assume it still has the brass speed labels on it?
If you need to learn how to use a milling machine, 50' or 60's machining textbooks or youtube.

They were the equivalent of today's cheap Chinese machines back in the day, don't expect amazing performance from it.

    Pics would be helpful

If you can use it for spares your welcome to it for what I paid .. $300. You would need a good heavy duty trailer and towing vehicle.

    Hi Mark

To be honest, not figured that out yet. I am hobbyist, just small projects that are too big for my existing milling machines.

    Cheers
