Refillable aerosol can
Any recommendations from AU suppliers?
Thinking about the style that you fill with your chosen chemical (eg bulk WD40 liquid), then pressurize with a compressor to make a refillable aerosol sprayer.
Sick of the trigger type ones leaking and going everywhere but on the job.

Lots of vids on youtube showing how to refill an empty spray can with fluids using a tubeless tyre valve, or make it easier to refill by permanently adding a tubules tyre valve.

A few years ago the yanks on pen forums were using refillable compressed air can for CA activator, something like this.

I can't help with an aerosol can, but I've had one of these for ten years and it's still going strong: https://www.gasweld.com.au/mx3-a-spr...r-bottle-500ml
No leaks yet.Chris

Buy quality spray bottles with heavy duty Canyon spray heads will last just about forever.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
Seems that the reusable ones have limited uses (couldn't load one up with degreaser, for example), and seem a bit pricey (would take a lot of WD-40 to break even!).
I was not aware there are proper 'brand name' trigger spray heads- clearly I have not lived my best life.

I use trigger bottles with a variety of liquids including; Vinegar, Tannic acid, , Rocol water soluble lube/coolant, kero, meths, Simple Green (degreaser) and turps.
Most of the trigger bottles are recycled bottles originally containing liquids things like, window cleaner, kitchen surface spray, or clothes stain remover.
The lube/coolant is in a WD40 trigger bottle while the degreaser is in a "Hills" branded trigger bottle I bought from Bunnings
Of all these liquids the only one that causes problems with some bottles over time is Turps which does something to the trigger mechanism and it stops working. However I found that Windex bottles will work with Turps.

The Wurth ones are quite good. The one we had at work lasted about 10 years and only ever had petrol in it. They are quite pricey though.

I keep looking at the couple of empty Mapp gas cylinders I have here thinking that they would make a great pressurized cylinder for liquid dispensing.
With a few bits donated from an old engine wash gun or similar they could be turned into something like these commercial ones from the US.

Funny you mention that. I was eyeballing a MAPP cylinder and noticed it has a schrader type valve in it already, and good some some higher pressures. Somewhere along the line I picked up a BOM outlet (same as MAPP cyl) low flow rate regulator, but I would need to work out the dip tube situation and de-core the BOM outlet valve, and arrange some kind of trigger mech.
One trigger for this whole exercise was when I went to put brake-kleen on the Landy's handbrake drum the other week (stop-gap fix for an oil leak- Steve knows), and my aerosol can had lost all pressure while in storage, rendering the $25 can useless. Annoying problem from a throw-away society.

Something else I’ve just thought of that might be an alternative is the old pump up primus type blow torches. They already have the hand pump built in, filler hole, a handle and pickup tube etc. Add a bit of copper tube oil-can style to replace the nozzle and torch bits and that would be about it.

You'd still need a way to stop and start the flow I think Steve?
