    Default WTB: 1Hp - 0.75kW - 2-pole 3-phase motor

I'm looking for a 3-phase motor running at around 2880rpm in as small a frame as I can find. I suspect some sort of waterpump or industrial pump is the most likely candidate. The frame could be longer than common frames, that's fine, But I'd like the diameter of the body to be no more than 5" or 125mm - give or take. Shaft size or length is irrelevant for my planned use.
If someone has such a motor in their shelves and no anticipated use for it, please consider a price for me. I'm also very happy to swap you for a 1440rpm 3-phase motor of similar or larger power. I have several from 0.5Hp to 3Hp that I would let go trade for this.
    Cheers, Joe

    Hi Joe,

Look around for a "Shower Pump" most are induction motors with powers from 1/2 Hp right up to 1 Hp. Usually 9 mm shaft. 100 mm body diameter. My local scrap yard gets loads of them, often one or both pumps size up. They are usually free to me as long as I take all the brass and bronze parts back to them. That stuff is worth more than the motor and it saves them from stripping them for it. They are always 2880 rpm and easily reversible.

The ones with plastic pumps are often universal motors and are around 5k to 10k rpm, sometimes with a speed controller fitted.

Ahh I've just seen you want 3 phase ! All the ones I've mentioned are single phase.
    Best Regards:
    Baron J.

I have a 1.5kW 2800rpm, 3 phase (flange mount) but it is 160mm in diameter (plus junction box on one side). Let me know if that is of use...
