    Hi Dave,
Impressive! My latest metal work was drilling 6 holes to mount a "post" to a tow hitch so I can secure a winch rope without having to tie knots.... not so impressive lol
The part in post #18 supports the top of the column?

Those load sells are cheap enough these days, I bought one just to preload some telstra rope I was using massage a leaning tree into the lay I wanted.

Yes post 18 is the top support ties into the 250x50 hardwood floor joists above my workshop of the split story house and the wall studs.

I missed a picture for the main centre support seen in the other photos, (attached)
This takes all the weight, inside the post is another 65x65x4mm diagonal running back from the top support to the centre support to concentrate the weight back onto the joists and bearer.

Its built out of the same 10mm steel that the top one is and ties onto the bearer on top of the brick wall and 6 floor joists over 2m. The hardwood floor joists are tied into the other side of the house under a tile roof house.
Inside the house there is also a internal wall which strengthens it even more so.

It's way overkill for the size crane and so are the bearings, buy I feel totally safe under it and it will last for many years to come as no bearings are getting stressed.

I'll have to put up some photos of how I got it up using a chain hoist, because the supports where that heavy I used a pallet jack to get them in the shed, lol

Here are the pictures of getting the top support in place, luckily there was a square tunnel where the old combustion fire chimney ran.
