    Default Sino DRO

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a new Sino XH model lately? I just purchased this one for the mill from what appeared to be a reputable Australian company in Vic with plenty of good feedback through eBay. Opened it up today to find that the 'Bomatec' label at the top left is replaced with 'GDXH'. I'm curious now if this is actually a genuine Sino?

These DRO's are supplied by H&F so perhaps anyone that's purchase from them lately might be able to confirm if they have the same?

Searching the net for information on Chinese companies proved useless. The best I could find was that Bomatec appears to be a magnet company. Would this have something to do with the scales? Maybe a change in partnership of companies?

    Cheers,

    Hi Fitzy,

I've just looked at your link, the DRO apart from only having two readouts is for all intents and purposes identical to mine, which is branded "HXC" and came from DG, FENGLAN Industrial Co Ltd, Dongguan, China.

I have no doubt that the manufacturer will brand them for whoever !

The link for the SINO DRO is the same ones that Hare & Forbes sell https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/K5200 . I did a Google search and came across this Website https://www.visionmeasurementmachine...-machines.html that actually states that they own the SINO Brand "We own the brand of SINO and GDXH for the Digital Readout product series.". They also have the word 'BROMATEC' their. I think that the unit is genuine. Also surely a product like that would come with a test certificate and perhaps a certificate of authenticity.

Baron, I have no doubt manufacturers brand them for whoever and to a specified budget! Would just be nice to know I didn't pay over $400 for something I could have got for a lot less.

Steran, I just had a look at that site. They have pictures of similar units but they seem to be ether branded GDXH or Sino and not both. They put the GDXH logo on these in red at the bottom same as the Sino logo.

Are these units meant to come with a certificate of testing or authenticity? And I assumed there would be something regarding warranty? Or does buying on eBay even through a company void any of this?

I've just sent the seller an email to see of they can clarify, will let you know the response.

    Cheers,

Would it prove anything if they did? They are made in China!

    Hi Guys,

Certainly mine didn't come with anything more than an instruction book, actually quite readable, very little Chinglish ! The people that supplied it also said that they were the manufacturers and sole suppliers of DRO readouts and scales.

I suspect that there must be a number of factories knocking out components for these DRO's, probably all state owned supplying assemblers and badging them to suit. The plastic cases and the extrusions for the scales all look the same.

FWIW I paid £152.00 for mine delivered. Valued according to the customs document 1,040.2763 Yuan.
