Setups 2
Sometimes setups can be fun. This one was.
I made this er32 hex collet block a few months ago but wasn't sure the side angles were correct, that's because I got the angles from a couple of triangles cut from plastic on my cnc router.
0.3mm was faced off each side using the BS-0. Watching carefully as it was cutting I could see the plastic triangles are actually pretty accurate.
Notice how the table on my mill is a bit small for me. The tailstock is held with only 1 clamp. Anyone know how to make a mill table longer ? ha ha

Get some Al plate the size you want and bolt that on as a false table. You could put T slots in or put in a grid of tapped holes that match your hold down bolts.

Actually that is what a friend of mine did so that he could machine some parts for a Clayton Steam Wagon. He also used a roller stand at one end to support the long length, about 5 feet I recall. Very heavy chunk of metal.
There is a picture of it on line somewhere, if I can remember where !

There is a picture on the front page.
Sorry it was a Foden Steam Wagon. He did do a Clayton. I think that one went to Tasmania, not sure !Best Regards:
