    Default Rollation for Patterns

For those of us that like making sheet metal items, but have forgotten/failed the geometry of drawing cones etc., I happened to come across this on You tube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGKOPYoM4Qo
Found it rather interesting and very simple to do.
    Hope this helps someone.

When I fabricated my dust cyclone I had a squiz online for cone layouts having forgotten how to do it.
Im a Luddite so can’t post a link but ‘Red bag. cone strike out’ should bring it up.
Making it at the Motorretro Vaughan used a bit of angle in the sheet rolls to skew into the cone rather than a cylinder.

It was a little larger than Ron’s so here’s a pic.
Dont think his method would be too convenient in the real world except for chambers and megaphones.

Maybe not, but you could scale it up from the Rollation, and would give a lot better idea on what you're doing now than before.
WELL, would be for ME anyway.

That's OK for those that have CAD and understand it, NOT all of us know how to use it, or afford it.
There is this program https://www.blocklayer.com/cone-patterns.aspx that is on this Forum which is under
    https://metalworkforums.com/f218/t19...ate-generators
under the subtitle Conversions and Calculations.
There is a whole plethora of template setups under that heading.
