    Default Bridgeport Oil lines.

Hi I am assembling a Bridgeport that I bought as a basket case and seem to have 1 oil port too many for the number of lube points the machine has.

If anyone owning a series 1 Bridgeport (English metric) could take a look at theirs and tell me how it should be, that would be appreciated.

My oil pump line splits firstly by way of a 6 port distributor. One of the ports is the feed, one goes up to the 8 port distributor on the saddle which takes care of all the lube above the knee (trying saying that without smirking) the other three ports do the column ways and the Z screw so there is one port left over with no obvious place to connect it. It had a fitting in it so must have been connected to somthing but I am puzzled o find where.

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards Craig

    Thanks Dave
Unfortunately this only shows pretty much what I have.

I am going to block the spare hole and pump the unit until I have oil everywhere then see if I can find a way or something that is missing out. To my examination everywhere that should get oil has a line. However this spare hole was used originally as it has a fitting for an oil line so it bothers me that I have missed something.

Craig, that left side port under the 6 way distributor is to be blocked off. It doesn't feed anything. Mine just has a nut in it.

Thanks Greg, that is what I have done as I still cannot find anywhere lacking oil. However the thing that is bothering me is that it has a fitting in it for an oil line the same as all other ports so prior to being stripped this machine had this port used to oil something, but darned if I can find it.
