I've been keeping an eye out for a decent-sized compressor for a while (I have 3 phase) however, after seeing those compressors with lots of pumps on them, it occurred to me that an alternative solution might be to gang up 2 compressors - I have one of these in a nearby shed:

They're a nice unit, and go on sale once in a while, at which point they're excellent value. I'm thinking if I got another one, ran some pipe over from the other shed's compressor, I could have the two in parallel, and with both running, would get a pretty respectable amount of air.
Edit: Just realised they've got a few new models, including this one with 2 pumps:

Wont that just mean twice the noise and double power consumption? I expect it would be an inefficient way to get more CFM and storage but I have seen it done before.
I am liking the 4 head model that tadpole linked to. Money doesn't grow on trees in my life so I need to be certain that I need a new compressor before shelling out...

When both are running the consumption will double, and probably is less efficient than, say, a 5HP 3 phase unit, but this way is considerably cheaper, and I only use serious air when running the plasma cutter. The existing compressor in the other shed is a reasonable distance away, and I can stick the new one outside my workshop, so noise shouldn't be too bad, particularly if I get that two-pump allegedly "silent" model.

I like the Pilot Air compressor brand. Sydney Tools sell these. They have a good range of sizes, however they are expensive.
It may be over your budget.
Paul.
