Mystery object
I have some of these, no idea what they are.
35 x 18 x 10mm
Holes, slots 8mm
Diecast aluminium
Marked "Gothia"
Looks like they'd be handy if needed.

Could it be for rope? ie a tie-down of some type. I also note that https://www.gothiaredskap.se/media/a...05-11-nytt.pdf is agricultural equipment.
Interested to hear other views.

Looks like a swage lock as in making an eye on the end of steel cable.

Thanks for the thoughts, folks.
I was thinking something to do with cords or light rope too.

You might be thinking of "Gripple"s?

They are much sturdier, and have some internal features that grip wire in one direction.
I used some recently.

I can't find any link to a Gothia wire swage block.
Any illustrations on how it's used?

Sorry, they don't make anything like that any more.... I got the reply by the sales manager asking an old storeman.... so it might be decades old.
