Scrapyard find !
Hi Guys,
I've been having a root around some new stuff in the local scrapyard. I picked up a plastic carrier bag with about a dozen bearing races in it. Among them were these three Timken ones

They are taper roller races. I haven't a clue what they are or what machine they would be for. There is a large warning on the back of the packet "Not to be removed until ready to install" which suggests that they could be expensive ones.
Anyone have any ideas !Best Regards:

Just looks like tapered roller bearings, imperial ones for general fab, nothing special or amazing. They all have the warning about not to remove until you are ready to install

Thanks Guys,
I thought it odd that someone would throw out a carrier bag with about 15 various obviously new bearings in it. They were wet, but had been sitting in the rain for some time. A couple have some rusting on the edges but in general are all quite usable.
The manufactures date on the boxes is 1995 so they are at least 15 years old. When I spotted them I thought that they might be lathe spindle bearings of some use to someone. They are also inch sizes not metric ones.
Thanks for the links, when I tried Google came up with all sorts of rubbish !Best Regards:

Nice score. I think you'll find that they are a wheel bearing to fit a large vehicle, or bearings for your next project, machinery skates. That is when all the other projects are finished and nothing on the "Honey Do" lists
