Ryco male air fitting dimension
Afternoon all
I'm working on a hose roller that uses a Nitto air fitting to lock the reel to the base.
By the look of it a Ryco fitting might be better(though I am likely over thinking things again)
If someone uses these and has one handy I'd like to know the outside and inside dia of the male fitting and how many ball bearings in the female?

TIA

I use Ryco fittings.
There are 3 ball bearings in the female fitting.
The male fitting is 3/16" diameter internal.
The external diameter depends on where you are measuring. The diameter at the end is smaller than near
the base.

paul

Ok, the external diameter does not appear to be a nice imperial fraction size, in metric it is 11.25mm
hope this helps.

Just a quick note, that the Ryco fittings and the Ryco STYLE of fittings are NOT interchangeable. DAMHIKT

I am going to ask. Do you happen to recall why?
It's unlikely to be an issue as long as the 11.25mm dia is pretty close. I won't be using the seals. At this stage I wont be using the male fitting, the groove will be turned onto a shaft. I will only be using the ball bearing locking parts. The inside Dia will only matter if I end up using the male fitting and then it will just have a bolt through it to hold the fitting in place. The Ryco gets the nod because 3 big bearings with a big groove seems to be better than 6 small bearings.

I can't really place what it is that's different, but they won't seat properly. It's probably OK if you got both parts from the same supplier.
I've converted most of my gear to Nitto as they have a larger bore in the male parts, to allow more air flow.

One more thing I didn't think of, I assume these are easy enough to get apart to get the guts out?

Yes they screw apart, unfortunately sometimes at the worst possible moment
