Yeh mate I agree. It maxes out at 1400rpm so Ive left it at that.
I did end up getting a WNMG holder and inserts and yes because of the rake it does load up the old lathe. But wow when taking small cuts the finish is outstanding. Although I think the finish might be because of the radius on the tip vs the ccmt tips I have been using. But like you I am no expert either so its all a learning curve.
At the end of the day I am building my tooling up so I am going to get some hits and misses!

If they are the smaller you can get a holder for them so that you can use the other corners.

That one is a 16mm shank, if you still have that limitation.....
Searching on Aliexpress for "SCBCR1212H06" will get what you need. 1212 is the shank, H06 refers to the insert size, as per the table in the first link. For the cost, you may as well grab some inserts too, pick something with a different nose radius (the last two digits of CCMT0604xx), or try out some of the CCGTs.
Or the second link has the holder slightly cheaper, but apparently you have to stick it up your own bum?
