Im pretty sure you will have plain bearings in that lathe head. 2000rpm is likely a bit if a stretch unless you set the bearings and/oil selection up for it. Maybe momentarily getting there might be alright, but, me, id not run a south bend that fast.

The spindle oil and clearances / shimming recommendations are for lower speeds than that.

But, im no expert. Just sayin'.
Yeh mate I agree. It maxes out at 1400rpm so Ive left it at that.

I did end up getting a WNMG holder and inserts and yes because of the rake it does load up the old lathe. But wow when taking small cuts the finish is outstanding. Although I think the finish might be because of the radius on the tip vs the ccmt tips I have been using. But like you I am no expert either so its all a learning curve.

At the end of the day I am building my tooling up so I am going to get some hits and misses!

I got my SCBRC holder and some inserts today and yes while it does take the 100 degree corners, it is too large to take my little ccmt inserts and use up their 100 degree corners But none the less I have some more tooling to add to my collection

Im not 100% sure mate. I use the tiny little inserts that come with the very common QCTP chinese kit. I am not educated enough on the naming of all the inserts and their sizes sorry.

If they are the smaller you can get a holder for them so that you can use the other corners.

That one is a 16mm shank, if you still have that limitation.....

Searching on Aliexpress for "SCBCR1212H06" will get what you need. 1212 is the shank, H06 refers to the insert size, as per the table in the first link. For the cost, you may as well grab some inserts too, pick something with a different nose radius (the last two digits of CCMT0604xx), or try out some of the CCGTs.

Or the second link has the holder slightly cheaper, but apparently you have to stick it up your own bum?

Just copy the link from your address bar and paste it here, the forum sorts out making it "clicky" for you
