Default Free Lathe Safety on Facebook

I was waiting for my friend Bollie, (Peter) from this forum to sign up and he has.

If you are on Facebook there is a new site with minimal posts called lathe safety.
They are offering a free sanding/linishing tool to fit into a toolpost for a lathe which has a 50x50mm solid head and a 25mm shank.

I didn't believe as I thought they where after my phone number, but signed up for some reason as I never do for stuff like that, why I did, I don't know but it arrived express postage yesterday through TNT from Cardiff Newcastle NSW.

I haven't tried it yet, but if all else fails it will become a nice sissor knurl body as it weighs over 1 1/2 kg.

Jump on it, I'm sure there won't be to many free ones.

This is the tool, it is designed to take the risk of holding emery cloth.

No connection to the company, and the postage only says Cardiff with no actual address.

Thanks Dave. I scored one too. I don't know if the tang is going to fit my AXA tool holder. I might have to mill it down to fit.

Thanks. I'll definitely have to mill it to fit. Mild steel I hope?

Thanks to both Masterspoon and Dave J for sharing these offers with us. I've put in orders for both the Lathe Safety tool and the easy dabber. The easy dabber could be a handy tool for teaching my students how to feed filler while TIG welding, while anything that keeps fingers further away from rotating metal will always be a winner in an educational setting.
    Regards Karl.

I got mine. It痴 much bigger than I was expecting. I値l also have to reduce the shank to fit the holder.

It would make a good block for a clamp or sissor knurl.
