Kant Twist and Pivot clamps - EOI in a group buy on parts
So...
Because I don't have enough on my plate already..
There's been a couple of threads here recently on making Kant Twist style clamps the end result of which was it wasn't economically viable to make them yourself in onsies and twosies. This coupled with the recent 'group buy' of some material stock here in Adelaide got me thinking..
If there is sufficient interest to make it worth the effort I would be willing to have the primary flat parts of some Kant Twist style clamps and some Pivot style milling clamps laser cut using my trade account, which carries a minimum $200 order.
I'm sort of thinking 80/150mm for the Kant twist style sides, and 80/150mm for the pivot clamps. In both instances you would receive the flat sheet metal parts only, you would be responsible for the hardware, spacers, contact points and threaded components.
I haven't had it quoted as yet, but I would imagine the larger clamps pivot clamps for example would be in the vicinity of $6-7 per piece (2 pieces required for a clamp). I would probably specify minimum order of parts to make two of the same size clamps.
If you are interested, post here, and if sufficient over say the next fortnight we'll go from there and work out finer details.
So I don't run foul of any forum rules, this is not a commercial venture, any parts supplied would be at my cost price plus outgoings such as packing material and postage passed on at cost also.
If this does get off the ground it will be strictly cash in advance to secure a place on the cutting list.

I'm interested in some of both. Pending final design & pricing.
Have been meaning to design and make some Kant Twist clamps for a few years now but haven't got around to it. My main concern would be pricing, I have a local laser cutter which were fairly well priced last time I checked and thinking it's possible that although you might get them cut cheaper, the shipping cost would remove any savings.

So there’s probably enough interest at this point to start heading down the path of generating models for quoting.
Would everyone that’s expressed interest so far, please edit your post with the size(s) you’d like.
