Default Cnc on a huge scale

Just thought I would share this Video of Major Tool & Machine Shop that I came across on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykV1SAAMDw4. The video is just over 1/2hr long. The size of CNC Machines is incredible.

The YouTube video 'How Rockets are made' shows some huge machines but they are limited to fairly simple processing. Fabulous construction!

If you want to see much more complex processing search for HERMLE on YouTube. There is a lot of different videos on there. NYC CNC also did a tour of the Hermle Factory.

Interesting video. Goes to show how we no longer need machine tools of hundreds of tonnes weight that are limited in what they can do.

A machine like that shown in the video, may not have the raw cutting power of old style machines, but can work 24 hours a day with minor supervision and take the place of multiple machines and do more then any old machine could. On top of that is as the machine wears, the wear can be detected and compensated for. Amazing stuff.
