I haven't touched it yet since putting it in the shed. Got busy all day rearranging my computer desk to upgrade to 2 larger screens.
So, unfortunately I have to completely disassemble the head. Have you seen the videos on that ?
Apparently these heads are good but the Chinese leave them full of manufacturing crap, dirt, grindings etc.
I'm not going to wind it around or anything until after I clean it out, but I noticed one thing, the lever that extends the pin into the backing disc for quick indexing feels as gritty as sh*t when I turn it.
I had been watching this one for a while at $360, waiting for some money to come through. When it did the price had suddenly jumped to $450. I was in shock but thought I might try "make an offer" for the original price and telling them how I had to wait. They came back with a counter offer of $370 so I jumped on it.
I think I'll be pretty happy with it. It's solid, tight and well made. For me it's bargain priced but just have to be willing to rip it down, clean and lube and reassemble.
Easy job really....................I think ! lol

The chuck seems to be a bit tight on the spindle thread.
What's the safest way to remove a screw on chuck from these dividing heads ?
I put the handle of a shifting spanner in the jaws and gave it a few taps with my hand but didn't budge it. I don't want to put too much pressure on the worm drive or anything else.
