Thread: Mercer Dial Indicators

I recently picked up these Mercer dial indicators cheap. They seem to be of good quality and accurate. Just wondering if anyone has any info on the brand. I’ve heard of Swiss made Mercer but these are English. Any info would be awesome

They were an English company but I don't know the current status. These days they seem to be rebadged swiss stuff, but unlike Baty and Verdict they do not seem to be part of the bowers group (who now are not very good, nearly all just rebadged junk, poor old moore and wright ) even their core product of three point bore micrometers are pretty rough now.

Yes Mercer is still here and going strong !

I needed a new crystal for one of mine after breaking it getting it out. Mercer were good enough to send me a new one FOC. Excellent service for a 30 year old gauge. Though I must admit that I couldn't afford the cost to have it properly serviced.

Don't have any indicators, but my favourite magnetic base is a push-button Mercer!
