Hi, I would like to make the shaft for this grinding wheel before it arrives, can anyone with experience with these please tell me the
diameter and length of the bore?
The description says 20mm for the dia but I would like to know what it accurately is.......

Sorry I can't help you as to the size, but will this be mounted permanently on a machine, or removed from time to time? Asking as normally they are mounted on a boss.
If it's going on a boss, the whole thing could be premade, and just the final trimming of the outer shaft skimmed to suit.

Thanks guys, understand that a measurement with ruler or vernier is not what I am after, but anyone that can take a measurement with an internal mic that has been zeroed with a standard should be close enough.

Hi Guys,
All the ones that I've bought have been exactly 20 mm bore.
I've a piece of precision ground bar that is 20 mm diameter and its been a tight push fit in them all.Best Regards:

I have 3 for my D-Bit grinder and another one on its way from your ebay URL. Mine are slightly loose on a Stainless round bar that measures 20.00 mm.

I ordered one of the 80 grit wheels and it arrived in 10 days. The wheel looks quite impressive, I'm not sure what metal is used for the actual wheel but is gold colour plated and weighs .527Kg. The grit is plated directly to the metal at the rim. A Mitsubishi caliper measures the hole 20.00 mm, the thickness at the hole 12.5 mm and the OD 100.5 mm. HTH.
I won't be trying it for a while so I won't find if the plated 80 grit diamonds have a reasonable life. Cost was AU$29.89 with free postage. In my case, it is nicely (laser?) etched '80'.

I was thinking about getting one of these diamond wheels to sharpen carbide router bits on my tool and cutter grinder.
What grit would be suitable for this?
