What's this called ?
I'm selling off a few things to fund more machinery tools.
I've had this for years and not really used it so I'm gunna put it on ebay.
The thing is, what's it called ? There's no brand on it and I'm not too sure how to describe it.
I do know it's a multi configurable vise. Quick release and all. I think it might have even been advertised on TV once upon a time.

It's ok.
Got it now. It's called a Zyliss multi-vise, Swiss made.

Originally the Zyliss vise, it's been sold as the Z-Vise at the Woodworking Expo (and other such shows) for quite a number of years now.
It's a bit of a "jack-of-all-trades, master of none" product and the $500 retail price is a big ask; I'm sure someone can find a use for it, I never used mine.

$500 ????????? holy smokes.
I used it once for a job that was really awkward to hold in a weird position and it did it well, but I reckon I'd rather have some more end mills.
It would be perfect for a woodworker who loves to do detailed stuff.
This one doesn't have Zyliss written on it so it's prob the Z-vise.

I'd be surprised if anyone has ever actually paid that much, it's always "on special" for less than that and if you get in late on the last day of a show you can pick one up for $300 or less when the rep is trying to clear them out.

Got one for $150 last day about 12 yrs ago, been used a couple of times when I needed a vice in an odd location. Like everything else, it's been in storage for 5 yrs, but the new shed erection is scheduled to start this week, then comes getting it wired and shifting 5 tons of gear and 4 cars in, then unpacking.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

I have one (not as complete as that) and find that although not good for metal work or serious woodwork, it is ideal for wood carving. I susggest putting an ad up on the WWF site if you want to get rid of it, as they are more likely to value it over there.
